Our F-Type Correctional Intitution No 2 is a high security correctional institution.
Importance has been given to the environmental desing to enable visitors coming to the prison to be in a clean, hygienic and comfortable environment. |

Those who come to our prison to visit their relatives come to the visitors reception lounge, show their relationship to the prisoner and register.
While waiting for the visitation hour, they may watch television, have cold or hot beverages and use the canteen for their needs.
They may read the books in the mini-bookstand and read the five circulated newspapers purchased from the general budget. |

The rooms of convicted and untried prisoners are single, dublex and three-person rooms.
There is one television one office-type refrigerator, oen tea set, beds and wardrobes for clothes and other belongings.
Ventilation gardens are kept open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and inmates are allowed to do exercise and walk.
Central music, radio and satellite broadcast are available in every room. Movies that have started to run are shown to prisoners via central DVD broadcast. With the same DVD system ,broadcasting of English, French and German languages are provied so that prisoner can learn a foreign language.
Three or four dishes of food are provided by the institution directorate as breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In preparing list of meals, prisoners' views are obtained through surveys. |

There is a canteen tied to the work dormitory to meet the needs of prisoners. No profit is obtained from the products sold in the canteen and the products sold are set by the regulations and circulars.
The barber and tailor's shop are available to meet the requirements of prisoners. No fee is charged from the prisoners using the barber.
We have one masjid(small mosque) as part of our respect to religious beliefs of the prisoners.
In the laundry room ,bed sheets and other belongings of the prisoners are washed every 15 days free of charge. |

The children's park built in Open Visitation areas enable children visiting the prison to be away from the prison atmosphere and have fun.
The tea, coffee and water automats pu in Open Visitation areas enable visitors to drink cold and hot beverages during their visit. (All these services are provied by our prison directorate as an offering on open visitation days.) |

Meetings in which issues and problems about prisoners are discussed, examined and resolved are held every week on tuesday and thursday under the presidency of the director of the institution and with participation by deputy directors, the doctor, psychosocial service personnel, teacher, the administrative officer and other members |

At first appearance of the prisoner to the prison , a file is opened after the preliminary medical wxamination by the institution's doctor.
The institution's doctor conducts diagnostic tests in the institution and writes prescriptions.The medication costs of underprivileged and neddy inmates are covered by the directorate institution.
The institution's doctor sends the petient to a university and state hospital for further tests and treatment when required and follows up the developments.
The Justice Ministry also covers the expenses of treatments conducted on foot or in bed in those hospital.
Medical services are provided 24 hours a day and there is an infirmary with beds and necessary equipment of prisoners. who are treated in bed in the institution. |

Dental Clinic
Dental treatment of the convicted and untried prisoners in our prison are conducted by dentist who is on the permanent staff of the institution.
No fee is charged for work done by the institution's dentist such as fillings, root canals, tooth extraction and dental cleaning. These expenses are covered by the Ministry of Justice.
Inmates with dental problems are taken to the infirmary without delay.
Patients who require further dental examination and treatment beyond that provided by the institution's dentist are sent to state and university hospitals.
Psychosocial Service
A file is opened by psychologists and social workers working at the Psychosocial Service for each prisoner who has been sentenced to the institution.
After the preliminary meeting with the psychologists, reports are prepared regarding the diagnosis and treatment of the Psychosocial problems. After this, consultations and treatments continue on a regular basis.Those who have serious Psychosocial problems are sent to the closest university or state hospital and their treatments are conducted there. |

Five most circulated newspapers are bought everyday from the general budget and are provided for the use of inmates.There are 5000 registered books in our library and it is enriched by our directorate and through book donation campaigns.
To enable inmates to spend their free time and expand their knowledge and skills, prisoners are taken every week in groups of five persons to the library where they can choose the books they want to read and take them to their rooms. |
